The Hard Rock Café Orlando

On Tuesday, while we were walking around City Walk we went in to have a look around the Hard Rock Café and Hotel and the two hours we spent there were amazing. The amount of memorabilia and what the memorabilia is makes most of the pieces absolutely priceless. Plus, for a rock nerd such as myself and Momma, who was around when all the stuff that we saw was happening, it was a great afternoon.

The theme of the Café is the Italian Coliseum which you can see on the left.

Quick, can you find Momma? 

 The Hotel.

It's modeled after the "Hotel California" song from the Eagles. When Brian, our tour guide, told us this Momma and I both said, "Oh, that was Zach's school." So we explained to him that the former insane asylum has been turned into CSUCI and how Zach, when he worked for parking enforcement on campus, would take students to the different places on campus where people had been hanged or whatever. Brian couldn't believe this and wanted to make sure he had the facts right so after our tour ended and we were eating lunch he came over with another guide so we could tell them again. We're almost positive we've become part of his permanent tour with this information that he'll now pass on to others who visit.

 The courtyard outside the Café was designed to look like Eric Clapton's red fender that hangs above the bar in London, which was the first piece the Café ever received.

 There was an entire room dedicated to The Beatles and half of the room was bricked over with actual bricks from the original Cavern Club in Liverpool, England that was torn down in the 80's.

Along the tour we were taken into a sort of banquet room that is modeled after John Lennon and Yoko Ono's apartment at the Dakota building in New York City. This couch is John's actual couch where he would sit, play guitar, and write  music. Also, on the right, you can see his white suit that he wore when he married Yoko.

The amazing Brian. The amount of knowledge this guy has is limitless. Really nice guy too. Since we clearly loved the Beatles and all the other information he gave us on the tour, and cause there wasn't another tour waiting for ours to finish, we got an extended tour. The Café has a theatre that can seat up to 3,000 with standing room that we had a look around and Brian took us to have a look backstage and then out onto the stage.
