Yesterday was the first event in the cultural package that came with the trip. The first event seemed to cater directly to us Soutern Californians because it was a trip to the beach. :) :) Brighton is located on the southern coast. It was originally a place where Prince Regent George IV came to party during 1800-1825ish. The palace he built and then expanded many times over looks like a mini Taj Mahal (not kidding) and is completely decorated with dragons and Chinese symbols everywhere. It was pretty cool.
When we first got to Brighton it was cold and cloudy. But, hey, it's still the Channel!!!!
A Ninety-nine. It's a British snack that is an ice cream cone with a stick of chocolate. Fabulous and a great snack while meandering along the beach.

After the tour we came out and the sun was out!!! The pier is just like Santa Monica. With amusement park rides, candy shops on the pier and with the sun out, it did feel like home.
On Thursday, our BL&C class was at the British Museum where there was a TON of cool stuff. I made the comment that the British had plenty of time to steal it all, and our tour guide kind of got on me and quickly explained that most of it was purchased. Most. But here are a few things that we saw.

And this morning I found Notting Hill!!! From movies like Notting Hill and Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Portobello Road is where all the shops are. And it was great!!! :) :)
Why is it called a Ninety nine? I don't get it...is there some reason for it that I am not seeing???
