Stratford-Upon-Avon

Friday was a daytrip to Stratford-Upon-Avon which is the birthplace of the Master William Shakespeare. We got up early because it's a pretty good drive north.

The English countryside is gorgeous.

And you can see the sky!!

The Avon in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Anne Hathaway's Cottage. Anne was Shakespeare's wife. Some of the prettiest flowers are in this garden.

William Shakespeare's birthplace. It also was where his children were born and where he lived and died.

Trinity Church where William and Anne are buried.

You can tell just how rich he was because he was buried inside the church. (This was very expensive and only the rich were able to afford the honor of being placed inside the church.)

After the tour we wandered around and found some great trees to climb in along the river.

And of course, what town center square would be complete without a monument?
